Meals on Wheels is a Family Affair... bringing shut-ins and community together. Meals on Wheels is more than good nutrition: it creates and promotes a beautiful form of community as caring volunteers cook nutritious and tasty food, cheerfully deliver meals through any and all weather, and encourage our seniors and shut-ins by brightening their day.

In order to provide our meal services, we strongly depend upon volunteers and partners within our community.

Meals are prepared under the supervision of a qualified Chef at the Kelowna Full Gospel Church, also known as "The Bridge". We greatly appreciate their cooperation and support in keeping the cost of our meals at an affordable level.

Meals on Wheels’ success can be attributed to the substantial financial assistance of the Province of British Columbia, the City of Kelowna and the Kiwanis Clubs of Kelowna, High Noon and Summit Clubs. Their contributions enable us to maintain very affordable products for our clients, many of whom have limited financial resources.

We sincerely appreciate and are pleased to acknowledge the assistance from the Federal Government Program of New Horizons for Seniors for our upgrading of our office and equipment. It is now a pleasure to bring Volunteers and Clients into our premises and share our attractive and efficient  space.
Other much appreciated partnerships include Bylands NurseryWestside who provide their premises as a transfer station for the hot meals for our volunteers; Interior Savings Credit Union Westbank who accepts the data envelopes from our volunteers; the Black Mountain Elementary School Grades 1 & 2 who annually bake wonderful cookies and pen beautiful comments in Valentine cards for our clients; the Brownies and Girl Guides; the Canadian Federation University Woman’s Club who provide treats at Christmas & Easter for our clients; and Home Instead Senior Care who created the “Santa for a Senior Program” at Christmas time.

These partnerships prove that there is a wonderful and sincere desire within our community by individuals and corporations to better it by helping others.
