WHAT TO EXPECT

Your Role as a Meals on Wheels Volunteer

As a Kelowna Meals on Wheels volunteer, your shift begins with picking up freshly prepared meals from our partners at Little Hobo Restaurant.
The day before your shift, you’ll receive an email with your delivery route and a list of recipients, so you’ll know exactly where you’re headed.

As you make your deliveries, you’ll meet seniors and individuals who rely on these meals for nourishment and support. A quick conversation or a simple smile can make all the difference in their day.
When your route is complete, you’ll finish your shift knowing you’ve helped someone enjoy a nutritious meal and feel more connected to their community
Whether you volunteer once a week or more, your time makes a real impact. Volunteering with Meals on Wheels isn’t just about service—it’s about bringing comfort, care, and connection to those who need it most.

Yes! While delivering meals is our biggest need, we also rely on volunteers to assist behind the scenes. We are looking for Meal Pickup Coordinators to help on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. This role involves meeting volunteers at Little Hobo Restaurant, organizing meal orders, and assisting volunteers in packing their coolers with the correct meals for their deliveries. If you’re interested in supporting Meals on Wheels but prefer to stay in one location rather than drive a route, this is a great way to get involved!
